The Skills Training Center of the Third Clinical College of Central South University was established in 2003. It is affiliated to Central South University and implements two-level management. In 2006, it began to organize teaching and implement opening. In 2008, it was led by the third clinical college sub-center, and the first and second clinical college sub-centers were awarded the national clinical skills experimental teaching demonstration center construction unit. The center has a construction area of ​​about 7000 square meters, and is divided into basic skills training area, computer and information technology-based teaching area, comprehensive skills training area, specialized technical ability training area/OSCE assessment area, and surgical training area according to functions. The center is fully functional, with 18 basic skills training rooms, 6 comprehensive skills training rooms, 16 specialized training rooms, 8 discussion rooms, and 2 network classrooms. The center has 1500 sets of equipment models, including high-simulation Sim3G, NewBaby, maternity, trauma Caesar, virtual endoscopy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, interventional therapy equipment, clinical thinking training system, and operating microscope, etc. With advanced facilities and equipment, the existing assets are worth more than 33 million yuan. The center realizes the information management of teaching, assessment and daily affairs. All teaching areas are equipped with video and pickup equipment, which can realize high-definition real-time recording and broadcasting, storage recording and broadcasting, and assessment monitoring.

The center constantly improves the platform infrastructure, strengthens the training of medical simulation teaching teachers, actively promotes the application of medical simulation teaching in clinical practice teaching, and conducts medical simulation teaching research. As a clinical practice teaching simulation training platform of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, it undertakes simulation training and assessment tasks for undergraduates, resident physicians, and specialist physicians. It carries out more than 150 related courses/items, and trains more than 40,000 people throughout the year, and evaluates 20,000 The remaining items have strongly supported undergraduate teaching, resident and specialist training.
