The Department of Clinical Medicine of Fujian Medical University was formerly known as the Department of Medicine of Fujian Medical University. It was established in 1937 at the beginning of the school's establishment and was the first department opened in our school. Under the department, there are four department-level institutions: the Party and Government Management Office, the Teaching and Research Office, the Clinical Base Management Office, and the Student Work Office. There are 3 professional departments and 33 teaching and research departments including the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Department of Anesthesiology, and the Department of Medical Imaging.

The Faculty has clinical medicine (“5+3” integration), clinical medicine (“5+3” integration, pediatrics), five-year clinical medicine, five-year anesthesiology, five-year medical imaging, etc. A full-time major. Among them, the clinical medicine major is one of the brand majors of our school, and it was approved as a national characteristic major (2008), the first batch of "National Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" pilots in the country (2012), and the provincial higher education service industry characteristic major (2016) Year), Provincial Peak Discipline Construction Discipline Medical Service Industry Specialty Group, Higher Education Service Industry Specialty (2018), National First-Class Undergraduate Professional Construction Point (2019). The Faculty has a team of teachers with rich teaching experience, rigorous academic research, and superb skills. There are 1,827 full-time clinical teachers (including 904 professors and associate professors) and 4,557 external teachers (including 280 graduate tutors). 36 person-times of national high-level talents including "Ten Thousand Talents Program", "New Century Talents Project", young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from the Ministry of Health, and candidates for the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education, Fujian Province 258 provincial-level high-level talents including candidates for the Hundred Talents Program and Fujian Hundred Talents Program for Foreign Experts.

The Faculty attaches great importance to teaching and scientific research. According to the latest data retrieval of the ESI database, our clinical medicine ESI ranks among the top 3‰ in the world. It has 2 provincial-level talent training model innovation experimental areas, 2 provincial-level teaching teams, 1 national-level fine online open course, 1 provincial-level fine online open course, and 8 provincial-level fine courses. A total of provincial-level project-approved teaching 8 reform projects; 1 special prize of provincial teaching achievement.

The Faculty has 5 clinical medical schools including Union Medical College, First Clinical Medical School, Second Clinical Medical School, Provincial Clinical Medical School, Fu Zong Clinical Medical School, 15 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 22 clinical teaching hospitals, 14 community practice bases for clinical medicine. A relatively complete network of clinical teaching and practice teaching bases has been established to effectively guarantee the needs of clinical practice teaching.

The Faculty pays attention to the quality of talent training, carries out ideological and political education, and continuously innovates talent training models. The student has won the first prize in the East China Division for seven consecutive years, and has repeatedly won the second and third prizes in the national finals. In 2016, the clinical student team of Fujian Medical University won the special prize of the national finals.
