June 22-23, 2025, the “Patient/Surgery-Oriented Visualized Nerve Block Training Course for Efficient ERAS Development,” hosted by the Chinese Society of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology and organized by Nanjing Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, concluded successfully. This training course brought together numerous experts and scholars in the field of anesthesia to jointly explore the application and development of nerve block techniques in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS).
Among the many outstanding sessions, Professor Wang Yun from Beijing Friendship Hospital delivered an in-depth presentation on “Anatomical Basis and Clinical Application of the Supra-Posterior Serratus Intercostal Plane Block.” He analyzed the key points of this block technique from an anatomical perspective and demonstrated its unique advantages in postoperative analgesia through rich clinical case studies. Professor Tang Yang from Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine focused on “Ultrasound-Guided Lumbar-Sacral Nerve Root Blockade,” introducing novel approaches and methodologies for anesthesia and analgesia in lumbar-sacral surgeries through the precise guidance of ultrasound technology.
As the ultrasound simulation training system provider for this workshop, Bedstar ensured robust support for the hands-on practical sessions. Participants gained hands-on experience with ultrasound-guided nerve block procedures on the Bedstar simulation system, comprehensively enhancing their professional skills from theory to practice. This integrated teaching model not only deepened trainees' understanding of nerve block techniques but also laid a solid foundation for their effective application in clinical settings.
The training program also covered multiple cutting-edge topics related to Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), such as “Development and Innovation in Enhanced Recovery Pathways” and “Application of Ultrasound Technology in Orthopedic ERAS.” Experts delivered accessible yet in-depth explanations, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of ERAS principles while providing new insights and methodologies for advancing ERAS implementation in their respective fields.
